Ashley Rae is a full-time fishing writer, content creator, and digital storyteller based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Although she did not grow up in a fishing family, Ashley fell in love with the sport at an early age after being introduced by a family friend, a connection that changed the course of her life. She is passionate about chasing anything with fins year-round, whether from her boat, kayak, from shore, or on the ice. Ashley founded SheLovesToFish.com in 2009 as a diary of her fishing adventures, and has since grown it into a platform that reaches anglers worldwide. In addition to her own blog, she writes for international publications and websites, and has built an organic social media following of over 185K followers.
Ashley works with tourism organizations, brands in the outdoor space, and government and conservation organizations on a wide range of projects, from destination video content and fishing articles to public awareness campaigns and brand ambassador partnerships. She is passionate about encouraging others to get involved in the sport and shares educational fishing content across her blog, YouTube channel, and social media. She also hosts fishing seminars at consumer trade shows throughout Ontario and beyond. Ashley has also appeared on fishing shows on the World Fishing Network and other television programs.
